Abstract

Abstract: Haiti’s forests are some of the most degraded on earth. Charcoal production is one of the primary causes of this degradation, and the need for fuel is the main driver. These photos show efforts by the Fondation pour la Protection de la Biodiversité Marine (FoProBiM), one of Haiti’s oldest environmental organizations, to rehabilitate the mangrove forests devastated by the charcoal trade.
