Abstract

ABSTRACTThe state of the art of modelling, control, and optimisation is discussed for automated road vehicles that may utilise wireless vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity. The appropriate tools to address safety and energy efficiency are described and the effects on traffic dynamics are highlighted. Finally, the economical and societal impacts of the deployment of connected and automated vehicles are discussed.
