Abstract

A nonenzymatic glucose biosensor based on conifer-like copper-carboxylated graphene nanocomposites modified gold electrode has been developed. Electrochemical detection of glucose by the proposed sensors was performed using cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The proposed electrode exhibited good electrocatalytic activity towards glucose oxidation. And the proposed sensors showed excellent performances for glucose detection, including very low limit of detection of 7.96 nM, fast response time of 2 s, wide linear response range from 0.1 μM to 5.48 mM, high sensitivity of 1142 μA mM−1 cm−2 and good selectivity. Moreover, the proposed sensors could be successfully applied for detection of glucose in human serum.
