Cashman is judge of the Steele County Court, Owatonna, Minnesota, where he has served as the juvenile court judge since 1960. He is presently a member of the Governor's Task Force on Juvenile Delinquency and a member of the Supreme Court of Minnesota Advisory Committee on Criminal Rules. He is currently president of the Minnesota County Judges Association and formerly president of the Juvenile Court Judges Association and formerly president of the Juvenile Court Judges Association of Minnesota. In 1969, Judge Cashman served as chairman of a committee which drafted rules of procedure for Minnesota juvenile courts.
