Abstract
This work presents the analysis of two advanced stand-alone controllers, that allow to tune automatically the control parameters attending some requirements of the controlled process response. The ES100 OMRON controller provides a fuzzy logic function (fine-tuning) to gradually inhibit the overshoot and the damping of the response and to improve the time response adjusting the control parameters. The 761 FOXBORO controller provides an adaptive control function, called EXACT, to adjust the control parameters from the information of the process in operating conditions.
