Abstract

Physicists are normally quite careful in their use of words and often maintain distinctions (e.g. between power and energy) that are not appreciated by the man on the Clapham omnibus. The writee is therefore appealing to the whole range of readees of Physics Bulletin, from lecturees to managees, to persuade organisees of conferences that those who attend are supposed to be active rather than passive.
