Abstract
Abstract Theoretical results are given for the electrical conductivity of a hot dense plasma. The gradient formulation of density functional theory is applied to calculate the ionization states and electron-ion potentials. Elastic scattering cross sections are obtained by partial wave calculations. These are then combined with ionic static structure factors to compute electrical resistivity according to the extended Ziman formula. Calculation results are compared with qualitatively novel experimental data.
