Abstract
The rapid growth of science and technology in energy and environmental fields has enlightened the substantial importance of the conducting polymer and metal composite materials engineered at nano-scale. This is particularly manifested in the design and synthesis of novel sensor materials to achieve the desired morphology and property. Here, a brief review is presented about the recent works and advances on tailoring nano-scale architectures of the nanostructured conducting polymer and metal composite materials towards enhanced sensing activity and durability for the gas vapor, chemical reagent and biochemical reagent. The representative synthesis strategies and sensor prototypes are highlighted with the focus placed on synthesis, characterization and sensor property development. Keywords: Conducting Polymer, Metal, Nanocomposites, Sensor, Synthesis.
