Abstract

Studies were made of the possibility of obtaining polymer mixtures of polyelectrolyte complexes and elastomer latexes. It was shown that during the formation of the mixture reactions take place in parallel between polyelectrolytes and polycomplexes interact with latex particles. It was established that the mixtures studied are hererogeneous and polymer components are incompatible. A special feature of polycomplex-latex mixtures is electrostatic interaction between particles of different phases. Mechanical properties of mixtures of different composition were examined. Phase inversion took place in the system with relatively low contents of the polycomplex in the mixture.
