Abstract

We consider the heat transfer in gas between surfaces of cylindrical and spherical symmetry for the free molecular and transitional regimes. For the free molecular heat transfer we derive the analytical expressions for the surface temperatures ratios at which the heat fluxes to the surfaces reach the conditional maximums provided that the temperatures of the opposite surfaces remain constant. For the transitional regime we study conditional maximums of the heat fluxes at different Knudsen numbers by the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo method.
