Abstract

THE problem of computer-aided control system design (CACSD) is one of the central problems in the modern control theory and engineering in Dorf, R.C. et al (1998). Historically, the development of CACSD tools has always followed (naturally, with a certain lag) the theoretical achievements of the contemporary control theory. GUI ControlSysCAD is a highly interactive CACSD tool dealing with linear and nonlinear MIMO systems by means of the central frequency-domain and root methods of the classical control theory. All the accomplished in the GUI analysis and design procedures look as a straightforward extension of the conventional engineering techniques to the multidimensional case. For N = 1, they just coincide with the common procedures used for the study and design of SISO systems. The GUI may be used in control engineering for the design of complex control systems in different branches of industry. The GUI may also be used in teaching classical and modern control theory at universities and technical colleges
