Abstract

Terminology uses various methods to give concepts a specific name. The article provides a comprehensive description of the method of metaphorization, which refers to the semantic approach when creating a term. The main purpose of the article is to show the specifics of the method of metaphorization in the language of science and analyze computer terms developed by the method of metaphorization in the Kazakh language in a cognitive aspect. It is noted that metaphor is considered not only as a linguistic unit, but also as an element of thinking in the aspects of cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics, and linguoculturology. The article also describes the opinions of Kazakh and foreign scientists about the metaphor. The main types of metaphors in the terminology are substitutions based on Form, Function, and place. In the article, we will see that our language in the Middle Ages, with phonologically adapted loan words from the Arabic-Persian language, and phonologically adapted loan terms that are not phonologically adapted to our language, also acquire a new concept and form a system of terms by means of metaphorization. In addition, in the development of the term, we find in the original words of the Kazakh language the method of metaphorization, in accordance with national cognition . In terminology, metaphor performs a nominative function and participates in the marking of a newly emerging concept. It is also an important factor that directly affects the formation of a new concept. Key words: metaphor, metaphor, terminology, term, computer terminology, embedded terms.
