Abstract

The paper deals with welding of aluminum alloys using Friction Stir Welding technology. This repre-sents one of the solid-state welding technologies in which the base materials are not melted. This pro-vides new possibilities for the use of special and hybrid manufacturing technologies. The article presents the current progress in the Friction Stir Welding technology, a microstructure analysis of a weld joint created by the FSW method and a heat-deformation computer simulation of an aluminium alloy speci-men in the program Ansys.
