Abstract

Results from numerical simulations of a novel electron gun which forms axis-encircling electron beams with small velocity spread and ripple are presented and discussed. It utilizes magnetic system based on NdFeB permanent magnet. The parameters of generated beams are appropriate for a prospective compact, mildly relativistic large-orbit gyrotron (LOG) whose development is in progress at the Research Center for Development of Far-Infrared Region in Fukui University.
