Abstract

In this paper, the computer aided design of the coaxial cavity of circular electric mode magnetron is presented. In this process, the governing vector Helmholtz equation has been solved for the dominant electric mode (TE011) of the cavity. The rotational symmetry of the cavity structure has successfully been exploited to reduce the problem size to two dimensional and the resonance eigen values and the corresponding eigen vectors for the required electric mode of the resonator have been obtained. The resonant frequencies have computed from the eigen values. These results have been compared with those obtained from experimental evaluation and analytical expressions.
