Abstract
The Indian satellite Bhaskara-II acquired brightness temperature ( T B ) data along the ground trace at vertical look angle in nonscanning mode. In this paper an attempt is made to map this data acquired at 19.35 GHz frequency during April–June 1982 in the time slot of around 0600 hours Indian Standard Time (IST) To facilitate the better interpretation of the map the data is coded with different colors. The soil characteristics of India and their surface moisture conditions are presented. The color T B map is interpreted in terms of soil moisture conditions of the Indian landmass.
