Abstract

Wind power harnessing in omnidirectional wind turbines is clean and non-polluting renewable energy sources to produce power. INVELOX is a revolutionary concept in omnidirectional wind turbines, collecting wind from all directions to ground level for safe, powerful and cost-effective operation. It increases the flow inside the section of venturi which is eventually extended and released via diffuser to the ambient atmosphere. In this analysis, the power output of this omnidirectional wind turbine was improved by optimizing the geometrical parameter of the diffuser exit and the variation of velocity on the throat area is discussed. The wind turbine efficiency was examined for various diffuser section angles based on the venturi segment and computationally simulated to test the increase in power output to determine the effective turbine for multiple incoming velocities.
