Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of the co flow jet (CFJ) airfoil profile on the aerodynamic coefficient through numerical analysis. The geometry of the CFJ airfoil is characterized by the placement and height of suction and injection slots. By adjusting it, the shape of a CFJ airfoil can be modified. Although the injection jet is the most essential factor in boosting the CFJ airfoil’s aerodynamic coefficient, the shape also plays a part in the lift augmentation process. The objective of this research is to study more about it. For this computational analysis, the Splarat Almaras turbulence model was chosen, and the flow is assumed as incompressible. The computational analysis is done through ANSYS 18.1 software. The structure of the CFJ airfoil changes as the location and dimension of suction and injection cavities are modified, which has a significant impact on the aerodynamic coefficients.
