Abstract

The one-dimensional analysis of the air gap field in electrical machines is a simple and highly important tool for the investigation of all basic phenomena in electrical machines. These phenomena cover the primary energy conversion as well as a variety of parasitic effects such as cogging torque or radial stress causing magnetic noise. The process of synthesis of field waves from winding systems and magnets is well known and thoroughly discussed in literature. This paper aims for a simple implementation of these techniques by means of numerical coding languages (e.g. MATLAB).
