Abstract

This paper presents a brief survey of computational algorithms for the analysis and synthesis of linear control systems described in the state space. An attempt is made to select the most efficient methods for analysis of the stability, controllability and observability, the reduction into canonical forms, the pole assignment synthesis and the synthesis of optimal systems with quadratic cost. Some aspects of the development of mathematical software for solving these problems are also discussed.
