Computation of Constants in the Strengthened Cauchy Inequality for Elliptic Bilinear Forms with Anisotropy

Abstract

Numerical results are presented that give dependence of the constants in the strengthened Cauchy inequality, which is a basic tool for constructing two-level and multilevel preconditioning matrices on the anisotropy of second-order elliptic bilinear forms for a number of finite element piecewise polynomial spaces over triangular and rectangular elements.
