Abstract
Textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) is currently being used as an effective inorganic reinforcement material due to its high bearing capacity, anti-cracking capacity and corrosion-resistance. However, the compressive performance of TRC-strengthened concrete columns under chloride corrosion is unclear, especially in small eccentric compression column. Therefore, 9 TRC-strengthened RC columns were subjected to the small eccentric compression test, with analysis of different number of textile layers, reinforcement ratio and slenderness ratio on the effect of TRC-strengthened concrete columns under chloride-wet-dry cycles in this paper. The experimental results indicated that after same chloride-wet-dry cycling, the constraint ability of TRC could make better use of the compressive performance of concrete and improve the failure mode of the compression column; with the increase of the number of textile layers, the TRC confinement effect was improved significantly, but the effect was not obvious when the number of textile layers was increased to 4. Besides, with the increase of the reinforcement ratio in column, the influence of TRC on the eccentric compression column was small, and the mechanical property of TRC-strengthened column decreased with the increase of slenderness ratio of small eccentric compression column after same chloride-wet-dry cycles.
