Abstract
Forty-two patients with peritrochanteric fractures of the femur were treated by open reduction and internal fixation with a 95 degree A-Ocompression plate. In 30 of 42 patients (71%) resumption of weight-bearing was achieved by 4 weeks from the time of surgery. Compressive fixation devices have biomechanical advantages over other types of standard nail-plates.
