Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of comprehensive treatment on amblyopia children with different refractive states. Methods A total of 180 amblyopic children (342 eyes) treated in Jiaozhou People’sHospital from December 2016 to November 2018 were selscted. All the patients were treated with comprehensive therapy, including applying atropine sulfate eye gel to smear the eyes, wearing orthodontic glasses, using posterior image, grating training and multi frequency red light scintillation to stimulate the macular site of the retina, enhancing the visual development, covering therapy and fine eye exercises at the same time. According to the refractive type, the children were divided into 58 cases (114 eyes) in mixed astigmatism group, 22 cases (37 eyes) in myopia group and 100 cases (191 eyes) in hyperopia group . According to the age of the children, they were divided into pre-school group including 106 cases (198 eyes) and school-age group including 74 cases (144 eyes). According to the degree of amblyopia, the children were divided into mild group [85 cases (176 eyes)], moderate group [78 cases (147 eyes) ]and severe group[17 cases (19 eyes)]. The clinical efficacy of the children in each group were compared. Results The overall effective rate was 88.0% (301/342) in 180 amblyopic children. Compared with the myopia group, the total effective rate of the mixed astigmatism group and the hyperopic group was improved (P all<0.05). Compared with the hyperopic group, the total effective rate of the mixed astigmatism group was increased (P<0.05). Compared with the school age group, the total effective rate was higher in the preschool group [92.4% (183/198) vs.77.1% (111/144), χ2=16.262, P<0.01]. Compared with the severe group, the total effective rate of the mild group and the moderate group was improved (P<0.05). Compared with the moderate group, the total effective rate of the mild group was improved (P<0.05). Conclusions The therapeutic effect of ametropia in amblyopic children is closely related to the degree of amblyopia, the age of the children and the ofamblyopia type. Mild amblyopia children, preschool amblyopia children and hyperopia children have better curative effect. Key words: Amblyopia; Refractive status; Children; Clinical efficacy
