Abstract
Abnormal lipoproteins were isolated in plasma from patients with cholestasis. These abnormal lipoproteins contain a high proportion of phospholipids (especially phosphatidylcholine). A low content of polyunsatured fatty acids and a high amount of monounsaturated fatty acids are found in phospholipids of these abnormal lipoproteins and of the hepatic bile. The ratio polyunsaturated/monounsaturated fatty acids is very different in phospholipids of normal serum lipoproteins, it characterizes the abnormal lipoproteins.
