Abstract
Hybrid Aerogel Scaffolds In article number 2200499 by Xiumei Mo and co-workers, inorganic-organic hybrid aerogel scaffolds are prepared by hybrid thermal crosslinking of organic poly lactic acid (PLA)/gel electrospun short nanofibers and flexible SiO2 electrospun short nanofibers. The electrospun nanofibrous aerogel scaffolds have excellent elasticity and porous structure, which enables them to have good shape memory for intimately filled articular bone defects. The silicon ions released from the PLA/gel/SiO2 aerogel scaffold with porous nanofibrous structure can promote the formation of blood vessels and the expression of bone-related genes, thereby promoting the regeneration of rat calvaria.
