Abstract

Composite materials, which first appeared in the middle of the 20th century, are currently one of the most intriguing study areas in contemporary research. One of the burgeoning topics in polymer science that has gained attention for applications in various industries, from building to automotive, is composites from natural and synthetic sources. They are also appropriate for applications in aerospace, automotive, sports, biomedicine, and many others due to their promising properties. This study focuses on the recent advancement of fabrication techniques for both natural and synthetic fiber-based composites. Different fabrication techniques and their advantages are described in this study. A summary of composite materials, their chemical compositions, categorization, and key benefits related to their physical and mechanical characteristics are also provided.
