Abstract

In order to establish surveillance and engagement of targets in dynamic or stationary settings, Line-of-sight (LOS) is critical for defense, notably in the field of Fire Control Systems (FSC) in tracking applications. Because of the reduction in resolution caused by modern control system’s components, it is extremely challenging to maintain line of sight stability for optimum performance to track the target. So, In spite of jitters, a novel has been developed to increase LOS steadiness with optimizing various control algorithms. In our system a gyroscope acts as an angular rate sensor for the control system, which also includes a set of gimbals, a DC servomotor, and motor dri ving circuit. The employment of a 3-axis 5 gimbal assembly enables the targeting of a maximum range of 40 km. This article successfully attains the continuous and stable LOS at many levels by using different compensator and controllers up to the range of 25 km.
