Abstract

Acute otitis media is a common disease of childhood. Most children have occasional bouts with quick resolution and no sequelae. However, a subset of these patient will develop either temporary, but treatable complications or even permanent life-altering complications. This chapter will discuss both common and uncommon complications of acute otitis media and provide examples for the reader.
