Abstract

The complexes of copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) with 3,5-dimethylisoxazole (3,5-diMeisox), have been prepared and studied by means of magnetic susceptibility measurements, infrared and far i.r. spectra, electronic spectroscopy and conductivity measurements. A copper(I) complex of the type Cu 2(3,5-diMeisox)Br 2 has been also obtained. The ligand behaves both as monodentate N-bonded, and as a bridging ligand N- and O-bonded. All the compounds here reported have an octahedral stereochemistry, except [Co(3,5-diMeisox) 2 X 2] ( X Cl, Br, I) which are tetrahedral and [Cu(3,5-diMeisox) 4](ClO 4) 2 which is square planar.
