Abstract
Unconditionally stable complex envelope split-step wave-equation finite difference time domain (FDTD) formulations are presented for modelling dispersive electromagnetic applications. The formulations are based on incorporating the Strang time-splitting approach into the exponential evolution operator scheme. A two-dimensional numerical example is included to show the validity of the proposed formulations.
