Abstract

This paper presents the complex analytical transducer model of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) for vibroacoustic applications, meaning when the motor actually does not rotate but only the rotor oscillates with low amplitude around an equilibrium position relative to the stator. Using only two assumptions – sinusoidal air-gap flux density and evenly distributed winding – the single phase transducer model is introduced, which is then extended to cover motors with any number of phases. The article proposes adequate transducer symbols and transmission equations as well. In order to enhance the practical relevance of the proposed approach, it is shown that using complex amplitudes and appropriate phase shift vectors in the transducer equations, a complex parameter transducer model can be obtained for sinusoidal signals.
