Abstract

The relation between the quantum yield of electron flow in open PS2 reaction centers (Φp) and non-photochemical quenching (qNP) during steady state photosynthesis has been shown to be linear (1). Two qantum yield parameters ΦPO and ΦPE were proposed: the quantum yield of electron flow in open PS2 reaction centers in the non-energized and in the energized state respectively. ΦPO and ΦPE were determined by linear extrapolation of ΦP to qNP=0 and qNP=l respectively (1).
