Abstract
The event reported in the paper took place in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, when the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) organized and hosted the II World Forum of Professional and Technological Education, from May 28 to June 1, 2012, at the Convention Center Centro Sul, The activity “Free Tourist Tours” was offered to participants of the event with the intention of showing them the city and its surrounding areas. As methodological tools, a survey and interviews were conducted with those who went sightseeing. The main objective was to examine the practical experience of the students of the Campus Florianopolis Continente who acted in the categories Tourist Guide and Cultural and Environmental Guide in the tours offered by the event.

Quando a proposta da realização dos passeios turísticos gratuitos foi apresentada aos alunos do curso técnico em guia de turismo, A complementaridade da atuação profissional entre o Guia de Turismo e o Condutor Ambiental e Cultural de Florianópolis: um estudo de caso eles receberam a proposta como uma oportunidade para vivenciar e colocar em prática os conhecimentos adquiridos durante o curso
Summary
Mesmo existindo diferenças entre a formação, local de atuação e atribuições referentes ao guia de turismo e ao condutor ambiental e cultural, é possível afirmar que identificamos atribuições referentes aos dois profissionais em sua relação com o turista: técnicas de condução e segurança, respeito e cordialidade, domínio do roteiro, entre outras. A seguir serão apresentados os roteiros realizados no II Fórum Mundial de Educação Profissional e Tecnológica em destaque para a atuação e papel desempenhado pelos guias de turismo juntamente com os condutores ambientais.
