Abstract

Global rapid change in medical environment is a challenge to the knowledge, skills and values of all medical and health professionals. Medical education has not kept pace with these challenges, that produce ill-equipped graduates with defects of clinical practice ability, mismatch of competencies to health service needs. Medical system based education reform advances transformative learning in the interdependent of education by a series of instructional and institutional reforms. Transformative education is a necessary way of new generation system transformation. It is based on the needs of health system, focus on the transformation of competency, aims at transforming the basic medical knowledge into clinical service skills, so as to promote the reform of medical and health undertakings. Systematic reform is a challenge to modern medical education, it must be sure to promote the transformative learning by the competency based transformation.
