Abstract
Competence by Design (CBD) is the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's (RCPSC) adaptation of competency-based medical education (CBME) for medical residency training.1 Canadian radiation oncology (RO) residency programs transitioned to CBD in July 2019. Prior to this, CBD was piloted in a single RO residency program to characterize assessment completion and challenges of implementation.
