Abstract

This paper presents a new predistorter design technique for combating the nonlinear distortion of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals in the presence of a nonlinear high power amplifier (HPA). The performance of the predistorted OFDM system is demonstrated via bit error rate, output power back off and total degradation. It is shown that the performance of the OFDM system linearized by the proposed predistorter is significantly better than that without the predistorter, and the performance approaches that of the OFDM system linearized by an ideal predistorter.
