Abstract

An automatic self-compensating technique for instrument (voltage) transformers has been presented. With the introduction of such an electronic compensator, even ordinary voltage transformers may behave with high accuracy and precision. Analytical and experimental results show that the compensator brings down the ratio and phase angle errors significantly. The arrangement presented is simple, but constitutes a definite modification of existing methods used for error compensation.
