Abstract
In a Tokamak plasma in equilibrium, the transverse plasma temperature can be measured from the change in the total magnetic flux. The measurement of this flux variation is complicated by mechanical vibration of the diamagnetic coils in the toroidal magnetic field, and by coupling with the toroidal field coils. A system of compensated diamagnetic coils, insensitive to mechanical vibration, can be obtained by using concentric inner and outer coils. The use of this system for plasma diamagnetism measurement is described.
