Abstract

Predictions of the coupling model proposed a decade ago for conductivity relaxations of glassy ionic conductors are shown to be in detailed agreement with recent Monte Carlo simulations. NMR spin lattice relaxation in poor ionic conductors including the alkali oxide glasses as well as quasi-elastic neutron scattering in fast ion conductors have confirmed the interpretation of the activation energies for ionic conductivity and the relations between them according to the coupling model.
