Abstract

Because of its intrinsic benefits, the demand of Induction cooker is increasing regularly over the traditional heating systems. Knowing, the impedance (resistance and inductance) of induction cooker are very essential for designers and manufacturers, therefore, to study the performance of induction cooker, one should adopt concepts of electromagnetic field which is produced by the planar coil for the important types of wire (solid, and litz wire). Induction cookers for home application are usually working at high frequency, where the comportment of planar windings becomes more dependent on frequency. Consequently, they suffer from skin effect and proximity-effect losses. In this paper, a supplement of preceding work about induction cooker was done, that achieved by calculating inductance and resistance of induction cooker in order to calculate its impedance. Systematic model has been adopted for deriving the equivalent inductance and resistance of planar coil, for each type of wires in the case of attendance or absence of load (magnetic and non-magnetic pot cooking). MATLAB program has been employed to obtain the results and schematic charts which possess the ability to solve Kelvin function and integral of Bessel function. The validity of obtained results was checked by comparison with other works.
