Abstract

Semarang coastal zone is one of the essential area in Indonesia. The area included ports and other land access that passes through the Semarang coast, the city’s central point of rapid development. The characteristic of the soil is one of the crucial parameters for base supporting regional planning, which is growing fast by the time. Currently, the capacity of the soil according to SNI 1706-2019 can refer through Vs30 data. As we know, Vs30 data provides an overview of the seismicity in an area. The main issue is that the empirical data of Vs30 is relatively expensive to acquire. Thus, many practitioners use a method by correlating data from CPT-u or SPT-N. The study approached the Vs30 data derived from the CPT-u then compared with the Vs30 data from SPT-N. The result shows that the value of Vs30 derived by CPT-u and N-SPT have a similar range of value to determining seismicity hazard particularly within the coastal area.
