Abstract
A clinical dental caries study was conducted to compare the anticariogenic properties of topically applied sodium fluoride and stannous fluoride in schoolchildren in a nonfluoridated region. The results of this study after two years indicate that all treatments resulted in a significant reduction in the incidence of dental caries and that stannous fluoride was significantly more effective than sodium fluoride.
