Abstract

Purpose of present research is comparison of postpartum depression in working women and housekeeping women and its relationship with social support and marriage adjustment. For this purpose, from women referring to gynecology centres’ of Tabriz (after 6 to 12 week of their childbirth), a sample of 300 women through multi-stage clustering random method was selected and Back Depression questionnaire, Spaneer Marital Adjustment Questionnaire and Philips Social support Questionnaire were completed by them. Findings suggested highness of depression scores in housekeeping women. In addition, findings showed that about 52% of depression variance after childbirth is explained by marital adjustment and social support.
