Abstract
Piezoelectric wind energy harvesting system has risen as a competitive candidate to scavenging energy from ambient environment for power supply of remote sensors and actuators. It is mainly composed of two parts as piezoelectric structure and interface circuit. In this paper, a right-angle piezoelectric cantilever beam is used to harvest wind energy from galloping oscillation. Vibration characteristics of the piezoelectric cantilever beam are studied numerically and experimentally. Three classical interface circuits, namely standard, P-SSH, and S-SSHI, are adopted to complete AC-DC conversion for the practical application. Performances of the wind energy harvesting system with different interface circuits are analyzed, tested, and compared.
