Abstract
The etiology of poor responders is not well understood. We have previously shown that aromatase activity (AA) is correlated with pregnancy potential. It is proposed that poor responders may have insufficient AA at the ovarian level therefore limiting estrogen production in follicles. The aims of this study were to investigate the relationship between the AA of granulosa cells (GCs) in poor and good responders to provide a better understanding of the ovarian hormonal milieu and stimulation dynamics of these patients.
