Abstract

Thin-slice accelerated aging methodologies have been employed primarily as a quality control test to determine the thermal performance of gas- filled closed-cell polymeric foam products in a timely fashion. However, thin- slicing has not been aggressively pursued because of past concerns about the reliability of the results. In this article, we monitor the diffusion of thin-slice accelerated samples of extruded polystyrene (XEPS) by thermal conductivity in crease.
