Abstract
Drug-eluting stents (DESs) and drug-coated balloons (DCBs) have been widely used for treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Although dosage and releasing duration of paclitaxel are significantly different between DESs and DCBs, comparisons of effectiveness and safety between these two technologies have not been well-documented. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the clinical outcomes including primary patency, target lesion revascularization, and all-cause mortality following DES vs DCB intervention for PAD.
