Abstract

This work presents the results of modification of the ocean climate model of the Institute of Numerical Mathematics (INM) RAS. The main code changes are related to the revision of the dissipation calculation of the horizontal velocity components, isopycnal diffusion and also to modifications of schemes of time integration of scalars and the components of velocity. Test runs conducted with the CORE-II protocol demonstrated that the proposed changes lead to a significant increase in the computational efficiency of the ocean climate model. В данной работе представлены результаты модификации климатической модели океана Института Вычислительной Математики (ИВМ) РАН. Описаны основные изменения, произведенные в процедурах расчета диссипации горизонтальных компонент скорости, изопикнической диффузии, а также модификации схем интегрирования скаляров и компонент скорости по времени. На расчетах по протоколу CORE-II продемонстрировано, что внесенные изменения ведут к существенному улучшению вычислительной эффективности климатической модели океана.
