Abstract

Objective To compare the application effects of Foley ureter low position small water bag and low dose of misoprostol on induced labor during third trimester. Methods A total of 122 primiparae in third trimester with induced labor from January 2017 to December 2017 in Xinxiang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital were divided into two groups by random number table, with 61 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group were given induced labor with misoprostol, while the patients in the control group were given induced labor with Foley ureter low position small water bag. The induced labor effect, effect of cervical ripening, delivery outcome, adverse reactions in the two groups were observed. Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate of induced labor, cervical Bishop score before and after treatment, postpartum bleeding volume, neonatal Apgar score, incidence of premature rupture of membrane or dribble urination between the two groups (P>0.05); compared with the control group, the incidence of vaginal delivery and frequent uterine contraction in observation group (77.05%, 13.11%) were higher, but the incidence of cervical hemorrhage in the observation group (0.00%) was lower (P<0.05). Conclusions Foley ureter low position small water bag and low dose of misoprostol in induced labor during third trimester have better effects of cervical ripening and high success rate of induced labor. Misoprostol can decrease the rate of cervical hemorrhage and cesarean section, but it will induce adverse reactions such as frequent uterine contraction. Key words: Induced labor during third trimester; Foley ureter low position small water bag; Low dose of misoprostol; Induced labor effect; Cervical ripening
